    Evening all

I have a 2018 Street Scrambler that I’ve had since new. I ride semi-regular in decent weather (UK spec bike in Dubai).

The oil pressure warning light has started to come on, on the past few rides. It does not come on when the bike is idling, it comes on only when I’m riding and the engine is revving. If I coast it or pull the clutch in the light generally goes back off again.

I’ve checked the oil level and it was within tolerance, I’ve added a touch more to bring it up a little but the problem persists.

The engine otherwise sounds find and there are no major red flags.

I’m currently thinking that it’s been a while since I’ve had it properly serviced and it may be that the oil isn’t running through the filter properly (explains why the light goes off at low revs). If it’s not that it may be that the sensor has gone.

    Thoughts welcomed!

    Cheers

My money is on the OP sensor or the wiring. Oil filters usually have a bypass valve to maintain pressure in case the filter itself becomes blocked.

That sounds sensible. I need to go get it checked out but there’s no dealership around where I am and the quality of mechanics here varies wildly, if it’s as you suggest I’d probably be able to deal with it myself ay home.

    cheers
