Can someone tell me When I was doing an oil change on my 2004 Bonnaville T100. I was waiting for all the oil to drain out I thought I put a new air filter in while I’m waiting. When I finished with the oil change I noticed there was oil dripping from the airbox. When are I reopened airbox it was completely full of oil. Can someone please let me know how this happened as I haven’t got a clue. Very much appreciated Redbox
You could always fit one of these ( https://www.triumphtwinpower.com/dna-crank-case-vent-filter.php ). Wont cure the underlying problem, but will stop the airbox filling up with oil
Think of your engine as an air pump. High pressure on top of the pistons and slight blow by past the rings that pressurises the crankcases. This excess pressure is bled back into the airbox to recycle anything combustible through the engine. A very fine mist of oil is to be expected over time - especially if you have slightly overfilled. If you have an accumulation of oil in the airbox it is probably because the small drain pipe at the bottom of the airbox which exits just in front of the swingarm is blocked. It has a flattened end. Filter out, you can rod it with a pipe cleaner or similar that will not damage the plastic hose.
