I'm thinking of buying a imported bike from a dealer he said the the bike is registered on the nova database and all I need to do is get it registerd. he said it was a simple process I'm thinking if it was that simple why hasn't he done it. I've looked online and I am getting conflicting advice has anyone done this and is it a simple process thanks.

Bob if I remember correctly the Nova Reg means that all taxes have been payed on the imported vehicle, does the dealer have the Nova certificate to prove this, which you will want if you purchase the bike.

You will need to get the bike insured, as you have no reg number you insure it on the frame number and you’ll also need to get the bike MOT’d before sending the correct completed form to the DVLA.
There is a fee to register a vehicle about £60 ?
When you apply to register the bike you have to tax it at the same time, so if you are going to restore the bike don’t apply for the registration until your ready.
I think the process can take about 6 weeks.
If your very, very unlucky they may want to inspect the vehicle although I don’t know anyone who has had to do this, that may be a rumour ?

What are you thinking of buying ???
