Hello my name is Dave and I reside in sunny ( today anyway ) Essex. I currently own a Harley tourer and a Buell, getting too old for the Buell and I'm looking at replacing it with a Speedmaster or possibly an America. I joint the forum to get some advice and try and learn a little about Triumphs.
This morning I was riding a friends Tiger 800, very impressive, so in the very near future I shall be taking test rides and making a decision. I think I want a Speedmaster with America wheels and headlamp.

Yo Dave, Heritage here, (and ex Fatboy). Rode my pals America, didn't want to like it but I did. Have not ridden Speedmaster. I suppose do yer wanna cruise or enjoy a adventure/streetbike/sports. I went for a 2009 Bonnie SE tricked up, love it, nice and light. So cruise/tour on HD, Bonnie fer squirting around on. Have trouble holding it back to speed limits tho :D

Thanks gents, yes I want it to just run around on but I'm sure it's more than capable of hundreds of miles a day. I've had nothing but HD stuff since the last century and my last Triumph was a Trident back in the 70's, after a lot of therapy I'm almost over it.

Hi dave and welcome to the forum. There is just as much to tinker with on the bonneville America and speedmaster as there is on Harley's but cheaper and it's a British thing!! image.jpg
Was gonna build one of these bad boys at one point but not got round to it. Eric

hiya Dave , I've got an America & love it , some people might say it's a bit of a tart's handbag with all the chrome but I like it . I use it for allsorts , not just highway cruising , I often go for rideouts with a variety of other bikes down twisty hilly back roads in Lincolnshire & can chuck it into corners pretty well , its surprisingly nimble & fun to ride . I've had allsorts of bikes over the years & often used them for things their not quite designed for (hardknott pass two up with luggage on a fireblade type thing) and this Triumph I've got to say is a great allrounder

    Hi Dave and welcome.

I have a street triple and an America.

I enjoy both for what they are.

My America is very easy riding and comfortable yet quite agile compared with my brothers soft tail so you may like it.
