    Good Morning Guys,

Need some help and advice, went to start bike Friday morning Daytona 955i on 05 Plate, and was met with a non start :(

Charged battery over weekend and still non start, dash display all working ok, just a non fire, fuel pump is whirring (fuel in the bike!!), just a loud clicking, any advice on where i should start?

Would like to avoid making the bike a 'Parts Cannon Target' and just replacing lots!

Many thanks for any advice all :)

Try checking earth is tight on battery and starter motor. I've just had a similar problem with my Harley and it was the starter relay

Hi Joêl, I agree with RR re earth connections need checking/cleaning. If you are getting a clicking noise that means all the switches (clutch/side stand/start button etc) are working OK. That for me leaves the battery. How old is it? If it's more than 2 years old and hasn't been on a battery tender for most of it's life, you probably need a new one.

Agree with Dave - battery is often the culprit even if it appears to be fully charged. The Bonnie supposedly had a new battery on it (18 months old) when I got it, but I had two non starts. It charged up fine but still wouldn't start the bike - bought a new one and problem solved.

I had an 53 plate 955i Sprint RS which also had starting issues. Ignition and fuel pump all worked etc and I could push start the bike easily but when I pressed the start button ... nothing. I searched the web for an idea and found a forum entry with the same symptoms I was seeing. In the loom from the left hand clip on there is a small metal crimp which connects the wires from the clutch safety switch. This had corroded and split. I peeled back the sleeving, replaced the crimp and hey presto all was good. It's a long shot but I had already been through all of the other areas people are recommending.
