Tiger 800 Noise In Neutral

It is perfectly possible that a noise I noticed for the first time today is normal behaviour for a 2016 Tiger 800 XRX, but wanted to ask...

    This is what happens...

    1) With the engine running (idle) and bike in neutral, and the clutch lever pulled in there isn't a noise or vibration - other than what I'd expect from a running machine.

    2) Let go of the clutch in neutral and there is a very slight change in noise - something coming from the gear box like a mild low pitch whirring. There is also a very slight vibration that starts. It's hardly perceptible, but is definitely there.

It is possible that this has always happened but I simply haven't ever noticed before. Can someone check their Tiger 800 and see if there is a noise that comes and goes in neutral as you pull the clutch lever?

    Many thanks in advance...

Thanks DD - is that something to worry about?

    Sorry - I'm a basket case :)

Yes that would explain it perfectly.

There is both of those adjustments. I presume to tighten it a smidgeon and remove slack in the cable? Not enough to cause slipping plates...

Hi, my 2012 tiger does it probably to a greater extent, has done since I’ve had her.
