Had a lovely ride out today. Only local ish from Exeter to Torbay then round to Shaldon where photos were taken. 5 degrees and heated grips were nice on palms with winter non gortex gloves.

I’ve bitten the bullet though and ordered some heated gloves, warm hands are obviously crucial and will help heat the rest of me I hope. I may be doing a full day out soon in these temps so thought it prudent.

I must say I don’t see why people take their bikes off the road in winter? Having said that I’ve got the time cos I work offshore so if it was just weekends then chances to ride diminish a lot I suppose.

    Looks lovely mate, nice photos.
Unfortunately I don't have a road bike at moment or yesterday would have been a perfect winter ride in Hampshire, it was 13 degrees C and sunny, had to be satisfied with a good long walk along the front at Lee-on-Solent instead :(

Yes I like it this time of year when it’s dry. That’s actually the area I might be riding up to as mate is picking up an MT 10 this weekend I think.

Where's the MT10 coming from dealer or private?

Oh right, in Chichester, not ever had any dealings with them, so can't advise what they are like I am afraid.

Ah no worries, my mate is clued up on bikes and won’t pay over the odds. He’s just said they have 30% off KLIM gear in there which apparently is good gear. I’ve never had any myself.

I remember hitting Torbay when I was on my first sea draft on HMS Exeter back in 2001, just before 911 I got kicked out of a bar coz they thought I was drunk.... I wasn't, I just wasn't used to being on dry land and was wobbling all over the shop! :D hahahaha :

I used to love Lee on the Solent, was seeing a lass who lived there.... skinny dipping in the sea at midnight pulling seaweed from bits seaweed should not interfere with! :D

Good to get out in the winter, I had a great ride from bridge over Dartmoor down to Callington and back via bude on New Year’s Eve, luckily I’ve got a winter bike which I don’t clean as much as the speed so it’s perfcet

Ha I had my first Sea in 92 I think. Then moved to Paignton when I left in 1999.

That’s a good ride. We tend to do that ride too. I’m actually from the Callington area.
