Thanks for the welcome as you can probably see I live now in New Zealand .. I lived in the UK until 15 years ago, when I was there I had mainly BSAs A lot rocket three.gold stars.A10s. And lots more.. raced a 350 CB gold star in vintage and a A10.Needed a bike to keep my sanity,Had to have a ThreeBanga, found a really good Thunderbird 900 import from the USA X California but too restricted on pipes, so fitted two reverse cone megas but miss the sound of a 3 into one, hence the question ..will a T509 system fit on my 900? Any hep/suggestions will be much appreciated:.. thanks.. Steve
Hi mate and welcome Can’t answer your question but I’m sure someone will be along with an answer shortly
I'm sorry I can't help you, but welcome in and remember to be safe and enjoy the ride. I'm sure someone else can help you in a bit!
Welcome, Steve. To answer your question ..... I doubt it. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though, but I would put a whole 50p sterling (my own - and I'm a Yorkshireman!!) on a 509 exhaust not fitting on a Thunderbird. If you want a 3 into 1 system, have a look at www.triumphparts.gbr.cc aka Sprint Manufacturing as they have them for sale. Not cheap (stainless steel), but at least they are available.
Steve Mulkerrin. Welcome to the Family. And no your pipes won't fit unless you do a botch job. We will wait for a picture of the Steed. Ride Safe Joe.
Hi Steve, I'm new here myself and was having a look through the newbie posts. I can help with your question though. I've got a '92 Trophy 900 and wanted that 3:1 sound too, my budget won't stretch to buying a 3:1 system. I picked up a T509 system for pennies off fleabay, they won't fit the carb engine as the headers are different, I cut the downtubes from my 3:2 system and got busy with the welder. I was pretty happy with the results.
