    Hi to everyone,

i've been riding bikes most of my life and 2 years ago a couple of lads and myself
visited the classic tt. we decided it would be a good idea to return in 2017 on
naked " classic " type bikes. So last year i decided my choice would be a 2005
Triumph Truxton 900 in black and bought one in june 2016.:)

Fast forward to christmas and some scumbag or scumbags decided to steal my
bikes, broke into my garage and to cut a long story short couldn't cut through
chains chaining them to the floor. They then proceeded i presume in anger or
frustration to smash the clocks on both my thruxton and thunderace.

So the help that i needs lads is this:). Does anyone know where i can get the
thruxton clocks glass replaced and speedo refurbed as the needle won't return
to zero its stuck at 40 mph as i found out when i moved it to my mates for saftey
until ive sorted the garage locks out.

sorry for the long drawnout introduction. Cheers and Happy New Year

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear about your bikes - there are some right b*stards about.
Bet you'd like to smash their "clocks" in!

No harm in making an offer at your budget and sending a message that that's as far as you can go.

Yes thanks littleade but my speedos stuck at 40 mph and i'm thinking
if i have a go myself and cock it up then hand them over to a refurber
in bits they might tell me where to go and i'm not known for my
    finesse, hence Bodger:D

btw, there are quite a few legit places where you can get a replacement odometer reset to the correct reading for the bike. Not too expensive either. Auntie Google will tell you where round your way.

thanks lads for your kind advice. I suppose what i'm really hoping for is one of these kind
Triumph members to come in with.... " Yep i know just the person. Colin the clock will have them fixed in a jiffy
he only lives around the corner from you and he's very reasonable price wise " :D
    I wish lol..

I've got some RD350LC clocks that could do with a refurb too.
    That sounds just the place.

    Welcome to the forum Bodger.
Spiteful jealous bastards, you never know you may find out who did it.
Have you checked wether it's worth claiming on your bike or house insurance ?

    Welcome to the forum buddy.

Sorry about your bikes. These thieving b******s are scum of this earth. My 954 fireblade was stolen few years ago. I know the feeling.

I hope you get your clocks sorted. There must be some place where they will sort the mileage on the clock if you can prove the true mileage.

Yes Mick thanks.I've got both bikes on seperate insurances and its £250 excess on
both so i thought it wasn't worth losing my no claims. i'm not too bothered about the
thunderace as they're pretty cheap to pick up on ebay.

Its not posh where i live littleade believe me! I know Kidderminster pretty well you've got some
pretty nice areas yourself.:p. Do they still have that bike meet on a sunday at that cafe halfway between
    Kidderminster and Bridgenorth.

There's a regular bike meet Wednesday mornings in your neck of the woods that's been recommended. Supposed to be popular, so I plan an excursion when the weather picks up. Hoar Farm on the B4114, CV10 0QU. Do you know it?

Yes Rich it's good, quite civilised. but its on 9.00am in the morning until around 1.00pm.
Theres a cafe there ,tea and sandwiches and a loo.(most important at my age) So unless
you have wednesdays off or have retired its a tricky time of the day. But you do have a few
eccentrics turn up. when i was there there was a smartly dressed little old boy (80ish) who
turned up on a immaculate tiger cub. Then at the other end of the scale some scruffy looking
old fella on a ratty v twin vincent. Well worth a visit if you only go once. But i'd go on a sunny
day in summer for the best experience. No power rangers pulling wheelies everywhere;)

I quite agree with you littleade i've only passed it in the car once just wondered if it was worth a visit
i won't bother in that case.Thats why we are off to the classic tt this year a lot quieter than the tt
and more interesting a place to visit bike wise and island wise easier to get around, easier to get a
drink and not so many Michael Dunlop wanna be's overtaking you on blind bends
