hi everyone, new to the site, i ride a 2011 865 speedmaster, stock when i bought it , i have added a saddleman seat for my bony old asse, which made a world of difference, tried a set of aftermarket exhausts whjich were to bloody loud so it's back to the stock sewing machine sounding pipes, though i must say the aftermarket pipes did make a good difference in torque, if you can put up with tthe burble and farts when you back of due to the unburnt fuel. Still getting used to riding a cruiser after a whole heap of jap bikes, the last one being a blackbird, should have done it years ago, it's really nice to just sit back and enjoy the ride. stay safe out there.
To reduce the farts and burps you get with aftermarket pipes, try removing the air injection module and pipes into the cyclinder head by fitting a TTP SAI removal kit. Here in the UK, Ultimate Twin Performance sell them for only £28 (+ P&P). Have a look at https://ultimatetwinperformance.co.uk/product/ttp-sai-removal-kit/ I've just bought a 2012 T100, so same engine as your Speedmaster, and I'm going to fit a pair of Weslake Shortypro silencers to replace the OE peashooters. I'll also fit a TTP SAI removal kit to cure the farting and popping on the overrun. On top of that, I'll remove the OE snorkel leading to the airbox and replace it with a TTP bellmouth, fit a K&N air flter to let the bike breathe more efficiently both in and out, and fit a fuel booster plug. I'm not familiar with the Speedmaster but all the same mods seem to be available for your bike.
thanks for the information there jimbo1950 i shall look into that, mmm more scratching of the bald head
