Hi have recently fitted a set of Commander 2 tyres to my America, and after the first 200 miles am finding them much better than the Metzeller.

I think the Metzellers fitted to my speedmaster are borderline dangerous :(
Gonna have to get some money together soon and get shot of them before I have an offo_O
Have never known a bike squirm around so much :(

Funny how people have different perspective on the Metz, My bike/America LT has them as the standard tyre and I have no problem with them. Not tried them in the wet though. I have found the tyre pressure is very sensitive though.
2 up it rides well at front 32 and rear 40.
So what is the preferred tyre for all round conditions ?

Avon AM26 up front and Avon Cobra on the rear. Personally I would have a bit more air up front, say 36psi.

I have to admit to changing the 32 to 34 last time out. Sorry about that, wrong info help nobody. Woops:eek:
    Ken.
Just adding this, at 36 the front starts to feel very light and steering is not good. At 38 the bike is quite honestly not nice to ride. Dropping the pressure vastly improved things.
