Got myself a 64 plate speed triple 1050 with Arrow cans and 6000 miles.
Can anybody advise on the gear change on these speeds as mine clunks from 1st to 2nd especially if accelerating. Ok if change at low speed and low revs. Dealer says it's ok and like all others. I can't see anything wrong and was just wondering if it's a characteristic or my riding style as I've rode a vfr for yrs.
    Ta Dave.

Hello Dave and welcome into the Triumph Asylum - you'll soon see why ????

Re gear changes if you are changing at 3000 rpm or above the changes should be slick and clean - excepting 1st to 2nd which on most bikes is a little bit clunky I've always found - the rest should be pretty-much nice through butter.

Have you checked the clutch clearance ? I find that on the bikes you want VERY little clearance at the lever. As a quick experiment tighten out all the clearance and test ride.

It is only 1st to 2nd all other gears are slik with no issues. I have been back to Triumph dealership who road tested it and said it no different to any other.
I can get a smooth change but find if I accelerate and change it's an audible clunk.
Clutch lever feels perfect with no clutch slip or drag.
I will have to have another good ride out as only done around 100 miles so still new to me.

    Dave.

    Welcome to the forum David.
My advice would be to book a test ride on the same spec bike at one of the dealers, then you can compare it for yourself rather than trusting the dealers telling you it's all okay.

Welcome in to the forum, tend to find on most bikes 1st to 2nd and vice verse is clonky.
As long as the rest of the gears are ok I wouldn't worry about.
An oil change if it hasn't been done for a bit would prob help.
I always notice an improvement in gear changes once I've done that :)
