Hello everyone. Before joining here I was driving an F800 GS Adventure, I was looking for a change. Main reasons? I probably used my Adventure off-road no more than 3% of all the miles, and my calves started to get bored of being stretch. (5’10). I knew that my next one will be a scrambler, the main reason, I’m used to the riding position, second, I still dream about my off-road adventures. In my finalists' list, I had Ducati (great scrambler line up, and a very good marketing strategy), an Indian FTR Rally, and of course the Scrambler, both 1200 and Street. I live in Florida so the Ducati lost their chance. I still have some rounds to do before been boiled in a traffic light. The Indian was almost my choice, but when I did the test drive it, it didn’t feel great. And then I tried the Scrambler 1200 XC. That feeling was the key turning point. I’ve been watching Triumphs for a while. With some professional bias, I’d say that was a combination of a strong British brand, an amazing design, the respect for a strategic move of the company to build on top of a legacy to “create” a new category, and of course an amazing product line up. All these drove my initial attention, when the time to pull the trigger came it was all about the riding feeling, an interesting combo of maneuverability, power, comfort, and of course, the feeling. It had to feel right. Looking forward to learning from Triumph experts, fellow riders, and the power of the forum.
Hi Leandro and welcome to the forum great introduction and pix, so glad to chose Triumph, I hope it keeps you smiling for years
Welcome Sir. Not sure of the logic. If you don’t go off road (and who does with a damned expensive machine) then an adventure bike is apparently wrong for you but a Scrambler is ideal? I have Tiger 800 and have no interest in taking it off road - however its riding position, panniers and even temperament means (for me) it is perfect for touring and munching miles. I am also happy to take it along gravely back lanes and wade through flooded roads (like last week). I’d have thought the BMW and Scrambler were therefore much the same? Keen to see a picture of the new steed and hear how you get on. Thank you for joining and we’re all (I’m sure) looking forward to hearing your stories. CB
