I'm in the process of obtaining my first triumph, a 2020 Speed Twin. Purpose: to ride and keep my '74 Norton Commando company. Like getting a puppy to keep an old dog active. Why a new bike? Well, vintage bikes don't stop well. Why a Speed Twin? Similar styling, rider position and trumpet to a Norton. Now just waiting for the snow to melt and the sun to warm my part of the world to tolerable levels.
I was on my Victory and my buddy was on his '74 650 Bonnie. A car stopped suddenly in front of us. I stopped in plenty of time. My bud almost plowed into the car. "300mm Brembo brakes" I bragged. He said he had 401k brakes. "What the hell are 401k brakes?" I asked. He said "You have to plan ahead." Welcome from NJ.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new ride. When I test rode a T120, the first words out of my mouth when I came back were about the AMAZING BRAKES! My 2020 T100 keeps the '71 Commando and the '76 T140 company in the garage. Fun to ride the "twins" together...the puppy keeping the old dog active. RIde safe.
Just to be clear...I was referring to the 2020 T100 puppy and the 1976 T140 old dog...not me and my handsome husband who's in that pic But then again...
Hi Stewart and welcome to the forum great combo and introduction, looking forward to seeing your stable of rides
