Hi Folks, Recently purchased an old T400 as a non-runner for a wee project. However, it's been far simpler than I expected and got it started after 20mins of fettling. Booked the MOT, carbs cleared out a bit enroute to the MOT centre and sailed through the test. I now don't know what I'm going to do with it as it was really just something to tinker with while recovering from an injury (I'm aware of this very much being a 1st world problem). Thinking of getting the sump off and making sure the strainer's clean as it's possibly never been done. Also going to sort the fuelling as it's not happy down low. I got the impression the previous owner may have tinkered with the settings on the carbs so I'll reset to as close to factory as feasable, make sure they're balanced. check the clutch friction plates are all within tollerance or replace as required (as the clutch is almost fully out for the biting point) and go from there. Really surprised how this monstorous beast handles. It's bloody huge!! I'm six foot tall but when I stop at lights I'm struggling to touch the ground! When it starts rolling though it's a very impressive handling thing. Anyhoo, signed up here to see if there's good tips on mods of troubleshooting etc. Cheers
"I now don't know what I'm going to do with it..." FatSpanner Ride the snot out of it! Welcome from the USA.
Like the idea but.. it's one of a few. Heading over to Ireland for the Armoy road races later this month. Might use this bike and do some of the Wild Atlantic Way. Picking up a top box for it tomorrow for £30
Greetings @FatSpanner and welcome to the forum! What a great photo. Enjoy that bike and share a few more photos when you get it out and about on the roads.
