Hello from Athens - Greece and A Happy New Year!
I am a 44 years old rider from Athens. I ride for the last 10 years a good old red BMW K75S with 138.000km from which the last 85.000km are mine. The german triple has been a wonderful civilized bike that a few years ago took me all the way to Lisbon in a weekend (that was 3000+ km in 48 hours)! In the end of September I met a gorgeous black 1999 Sprint 900 Sport for sale in a ridiculous price for her condition (1500 euros) and I just had to have her! She has 52.000km and being a BMW rider I tend to consider this kind of mileage as ''almost a new bike". Now my mechanical knowledge are extremely limited but She feels in a very good shape. Compared to her german sister she feels biger, heavier, stronger (in a funny way) and more stable in the turns. What I mean is that the K tends to accelarate with a nice silky smooth way and she is capable of reaching the 200km/hr in no time all this in a gently civilised manner. The Sprint feels in many ways similar to the K but then again she seems to be a totally different story. Yes She is smooth but she is THERE! You can hear her and you can feel her because that the way She want it! If she wasn't English I would say she was a lady from Brasil! What I mean is that it's not a matter of speed or accelaration because both are at least for my needs and skills very fast machines. The difference is in the way that they deliver the power. Triumph came as a possible "replacement" (what an awful word) of the K75S. Finances, Logic and Family plans all lead to the conclousion that two bikes (even that old) is a luxury I can't afford. However at least for the time being I am keeping both of them for different reasons each one, (I mean every man should have a red bike and a black bike)! In a another thread I will continue my adventure with a possible future project of turning the Sprint to a naked bike like a Trident or a Speed Triple but that is another story. Thank you all for your kind hospitality and I wish a Safe Happy New Year to you All!

Blimey, and I thought I'd racked up some miles!

    Welcome Stavros

Some quality pictures you have there.

    Cheers

    Dick

p.s. I always liked the K75. The one I rode was a great balance between power, handling, weight and comfort. I should have bought it

Yassas and welcome to the forum
Looks like you have two nice bikes there.

The Sprint will feel a bit heavier at low speed as the spine frame has more weight higher on the bike but once you get going they are fantastic.

Make sure you have a good battery for the Sprint and it is always best to keep an eye on the valve clearances but apart from that they are pretty good.

    Cheers

    Steve
