Hi all, I recently picked up my first ever Triumph - a brand new 2016+ Speed Triple R in grey - and I'm loving it. This is only the second bike I've purchased new, the other being a Yamaha 350 LC in 1986. I usually buy good, low mileage used bikes but this time, after a test ride at Youles in Manchester I was smitten. I traded in my cherished 2007 Aprilia RSV1000R Factory because I wanted something a little less track-focused, more versatile and everyday useable. I've got to say the triple doesn't disappoint. It feels plenty quick enough (I'm still running her in), handles fantastically well and is so much easier to live with around town. I had some Triumph options fitted: tank-pad, fly-screen, frame mounted crash-bungs and a grab-rail for the missus, and I've made some other mods myself: Evotech radiator and oil-cooler guards, Evotech tail-tidy, and my fave mod, the underseat SC Projects Carbon slip-on cans (I'm leaving the DB killers in). The only downside for me so far is I miss having a full fairing when I'm going at a fair clip. Forum looks great. Gled.
Welcome mate. Sounds nice, but you could have saved a ton of typing by including a photo The inmates just love pictures to drool over.
Cheers Rich Sorry, I thought I'd be restricted on posting pics until I've made a few posts. That's how it worked on other forums I've been on. Pics coming soon... Gled
Fellow Triumph enthusiasts of all persuasions. Pics of my S3R as promised... (fingers crossed this works) Gled
Thanks Andy, I'm impressed with what I've seen of the forum so far. Hoping to be a reasonably active member (time permitting). Gled.
Oh, I forgot to mention the other mod. The machined clutch-cable bracket. You can just see it bolted to the clutch casing on the engine in the pic above. A useless trinket I know but I liked it. Gled.
Hello Gled and welcome to the Triumph Asylum - Nursie will be along soon with your 'meds'. Trinkets are never useless ! They show the world that you are an individual.
