    Hello All,

Introducing myself. I started riding as an adult at age 49 seven ago and have been loving every minute of it. My first motorcycle was a 2012 Honda CBR250R that I still have. Next I bought a 2015 BMW F800GT that will soon be sold (hopefully) because it has been replaced with a 2014 Triumph Thunderbird ABS.

I have about 60,000+ miles in the saddle with local riding, group rides, and several fly-n-rent excursions such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Big Bend (Texas), and Death Valley (California).

Here's the thread introducing my new-to-me Thunderbird.

Thanks and I look forward to meeting new people and chatting about Triumphs.

    Hank

    Thank you, Joe!

Home safe and sound in the garage after a quick wash-n-dry following a harrowing 4-hour, 270-mile trailer ride in a constant downpour on terribly potholed Ohio interstate highways:

Real nice looking machine and all kitted out. Ready for the brighter weather. Thanks for the pictures. And that's not a garage it's a castle. Man what I would give to have that space.
    Ride Safe
    Joe.

It's been a lifelong dream of mine as well, finally realized. I'd gotten my two kids through private schooling and university and out on their own. Delayed gratification! I live on rural acreage so I had the land. In late 2017 I had a crew erect a 30 ft x 60 ft (9.1 m x 18.3 m) pole building. A pole building is essentially a barn framework supported by posts set in holes in the ground with concrete, then everything is covered in sheet steel. A lot of buildings like this have gravel floors but I went the extra bit and had it finished in concrete. It cost five times what I paid for the Thunderbird though!

Now it's my favorite place...I much prefer spending time "out at the barn" with my bikes.

Picture taken right after construction was completed but prior to the new driveway being paved.

Thanks for the welcome, Vulpes & Billy!

Street Triple! If I knew that I'd forgotten. I remember you had a Fireblade and that you'd sold your F800ST.

Yes! It's such a great bike, I can't part with it. Absolute opposite end of the riding spectrum from the Thunderbird but it's a different bike for a different purpose. The lightness and agility are delightful.

I'll be selling the F800GT. It's a good bike that I just never bonded with. It leaves me flat and life is too short to ride a bike that you don't love.

    Two Fireblades! How cool!

My first one is with its new owner, that was the 1994 Urban Tiger I restored, the current 1993 Blade I’ve only just acquired, I’ve always lusted after an early twin headlamp model, this came along via a forum contact and it’s 100% original and unmolested, so it seemed rude not to buy it. First ride out on it today and it didn’t disappoint, great bike!
