Hello All, a note to introduce myself, retired and living in Dorset, I having been riding since 1971, and have previously owned five Hinkley Triumphs, the first one in 1998 was a Trident 900, followed by a 790 Bonneville, an Adventurer, a T100 and a Street Twin, after 20 years I went for a change and tried a Tracer and an Interceptor. Got bored with the modern bikes and thought back to the best bike I had ever had and thought it was the 2002 790 Bonneville, spent some time shopping around, and found a 2001 very low mileage Bonneville in excellent condition. I have spent the last month taking it apart cleaning it and treating it to ACF50, it was running very lean because a former owner had fitted Norman Hyde Togo silencers but had left the original jets in, rejetted to 114 it now runs sweetly, however I am sourcing some original pipes and aim to return to original. I will post a photo when I work out how to do it. Cheers Tim
Greetings from Lincolnshire. This should help with your photo's. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/newbie-advice-for-pictures-and-avatars.23720/
Here it is, I bought it two months ago with 4,300 miles, looking at the old MOT history it had been parked up for 14 years, put back on the road last year, it had original 2001 tyres which I replaced with Avons, full annual service, valve clearance check and carb clean carried out so far, will be taking off the forks and changing the oil, possibly fitting progressive springs, not sure yet, hopefully I will be receiving some used original silencers from ebay soon, so that is next job. The headlight has a modern LED assembly, not sure whether to keep that or not, it is very bright so might leave it fitted.
Welcome!! Look forward to seeing a pic or two!! Have family in Gillingham and Shaftesbury, beautiful part of the country!!
