Forumites Good evening I'm obviously new here, looking for Tiger Cub registration TBL 26 G, my 1st (legal) bike I now live alone in Sunny Essex, following my wifes death in August 2021 When she was my girlfriend, I put her and the aformentioned bike, into a ditch near West Ilsley, not the happiest day of our relationship, but, I think she forgave me. I know that this is a long shot, chances are it's long gone, but, I wanted to give it a try. I'd like to buy it (again) and do a strip and rebuild My 1st (legal) bike, I was 17 Bought it from Trevor Goodall in Didcot, paid £124/19/6 (if my memory serves) Took it to a guy called John Reed in 1969, it was misfiring and I was not knowledgable back then This John Reed, who had a scruffy workshop behind the shops on Lower Broadway, was a well known character in the bike world as being able to fix anything and he fixed my Tiger Cub in no time (charged me half a crown) Anyway, I digress, if anyone on the forum has any info re TBL26G, no matter positive or negative, I would be grateful to hear it Thanks in advance
Hi and welcome. I am sure that you have checked the DVLA site, but in case you have not, this is what it shows for that motorcycle: https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/VehicleFound?locale=en
Thanks It was the ref on the Gov.uk site to the last V5 being issued in 2019, that fanned the small flame of hope, so I chanced my arm with this thread TBH I feel that I am whistling in the wind . . . . . . . . .but . . . .
Welcome On a positive note, the DVLA issued a V5c (logbook) as recently as 2019 so the registration, and so likely the bike, is around somewhere.
Hi, @Willg, and welcome to the forum. I hope you find that motorcycle. It sounds like it has sentimental value to you… in spite of putting it in the ditch with your then girlfriend. Or even perhaps because of it! Good luck with your search.
It may be worthwhile contacting Steve Jackson. Steve Jackson at: [email protected] This is a website loosely affiliated with TOMCC that is dedicated to the Terrier and the Tiger Cub.
