    Hi Folks.

New guy here from Ilminster, Somerset. Own a Triumph T100. Had it a couple of months, bought it from Total Triumph near Taunton. First couple of weeks was great, loved the bike. Nothing but trouble ever since and nothing but BS, excuses and nonsense from the so called Dealer (Total Triumph).

Hopefully things will get sorted amicably (Doubt it) and I can get back to having a whole load of fun on my bike.

    Great to find the website.

If you have a Triumph problem Andy Bowman at Bridport will sort it out, an ex Triumph technician he has run Andy's Workshop for about 20 years or so, he has helped me out and is first class, highly recommended.

Thanks for the welcome folks. The problem with the bike is that between tick over and 3000RPM, the bike misfires, stutters and holds back. I have made 6 visits to the dealer. They have had the bike in twice, first time they blamed the problem on something in the fuel. They claimed they had stripped it out blah blah blah, including the carbs. Got the bike back and it was just as bad. The so called Sales Manager test rode it and said that it was my fault, that I should keep it in lower gears and rev it higher! The woman backed him up. I had to wait threer weeks for them to get the bike in the first time. Guys, I have been riding bikes since my fourth birthday, I was 64 in November just gone. Never not had at least one bike all my life. Ridden all over Europe, Cyprus, Canada, USA. Built dozens of custom bikes and trikes. Raced at Santa pod, Avon Park and Hockenhiem. I set up Team Yamaha Drag Racing and got Back Street Heroes magazine to sponsor us to go to the Isle of Man TT, Ramsey Sprint. We came back with two big trophies and I used to do stunts for charity. I have also done a hell of a lot of photography and write up's for numerous bike mags. I think it is fair to say I know a bit about bikes and how they work. I told Total Triumph, right at the start, that I was pretty sure the problem was most likely pilot jets. They reminded me that they had already been through the fuel system. There was zero evidence that the carbs had been touched at all. I insisted they have the bike in again and this time actually take the carbs off and check them thorougly. I was sat in the showroom for well over an hour and a half when I was called to go and have a look at what they had found. Floats bowls looked like they had been sat in a sandbox. I then got a load of BS about what was wrong.

Got the bike back two days later, on Friday morning 24th December. Took the bike out that evening and it was just as bad, if not worse. Now it drops down to about 500rpm and stalls. Called Total Triumph and the womans attitude was unbelievable. Not interested in the slightest.

I have now got to the point that I want a full refund. I will go elsewhere to buy another triumph T100. Great shame because I fell in love with the bike as soon as I got it. It gets a lot of attention whenever I stop anywhere. It does everything I want it to do EXCEPT RUN PROPERLY! The dealer Total Triumph is badly at fault. As the bike is under warranty I was told not to do any repairs myself. I was supposed to go away over Christmas, thanks to Total Triumph's incompetance and their awful customer service, that plan was ruined. So Trading Standards, county Court it is.

Also quite near you is the Bike Clinic at Gillingham, they removed my carbs, carried out ultra sonic clean, replaced all seals and gaskets and set it all up for less than a hundred quid, it runs perfectly now, don't throw the bike away because the dealer is rubbish, suggest you write to them to put on record that they can't fix it, try the Bike Clinic or Andy Bowman, both places have proper trained mechanics, get it fixed and send the dealer the bill.
    Good luck with it.

    Good luck with trading standards.
You shouldn't have to put up with the crap that you're going through.
Why some dealers act this way is beyond me.

Hey Chopper! Sorry, but not at all surprised, that you've had "issues" with TOTAL Triumph. The thread here .....

    https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/total-triumph.27949/

...... might prove of some interest and, possibly, further corroborative evidence for a County Court submission - though it probably won't be any surprise to you, personally.

I still find it utterly amazing that, not only do TOTAL maintain a solus dealership accreditation from the factory but they also seem to have managed to acquire the factory concession to sell off old and obsoleted parts!! I can't remember which former dealership used to have this concession but I do know that the prices seem to be rather less attractive these days. Wonder why?

If you are looking for a good place to have your bike serviced/maintained/repaired and don't mind the journey back to the same area try Paul BRUMER at Chelston - just under 2 miles away from TOTAL's site and a bit nearer to the M5 junction 26. Paul is a nice guy and a Triumph trained tech., and was at TOTAL until he set up his own place - I think he managed to get the 'integrity bypass' successfully reversed on leaving his former employ!!

I do sincerely hope that you get some satisfaction out of the County Court action and trust you'll come back and let us know the outcome - whichever way it goes!!

    Good luck!!

Hi. thanks for the comments. I am in the process of doing some research into Total Triumph. Found out that the bloke and his wie are a lot less than upstanding citizensand there are been numerous issues with Total. Amazing what you can find isn't it?

Biggest problem I have is not losing my temper when I go there to sort this mess out. I am not known for being the forgiving sort. The lowlife staff that I have encountered are not worth getting arrested for. So I am going to go the route that will entail some digging and may take some time, but I will NOT let them get away with treating a customer like this. This is the second bike I have bought from them in 2023. Also bought my Rocket 111 from them in February.

I am 99.99% ccertain that this is a simple issue that could be resolved by them doing their job properly. I was told by them that the bike is under warranty and I should not attempt to do any repairs myself. The warrantty was part of the original deal. So I don't think I am being unreasonable.

This is my T100. I love this bike but the whole buying experience has been TOTALLY ruined (See what I did there)? Don't want to lose it but they have annoyed me to the point that I want revenge and either another bike of equal value or a Total refund. A refund will allow me to find another T100 with no issues.

Hi and welcome, sorry to hear about the problems you have faced. It should not be this way, I hope you get it fixed and can enjoy your bike to its full potential.

    Hi Chopper,
Sad to hear about your issue with the bike; been down this road myself with a boat engine; finally came to barf the warranty; due to persistence, found a great mechanic and got recommendations from him; fixed the engine myself with my own hand tools and a few parts; learned a lot about the engine.

    What Tim Gibbs said.
