Hi fellow forum members I am returning to biking after a few years off and I am looking to build a triumph bonneville cafe racer. I have been in touch with the builder of a bike in the states asking all sorts of questions etc on parts, spec. He was very helpful but all the suppliers are based in the states. Not a problem with international postage you cry but I would like to hear from any members who have undertaken similar projects here and who they use as suppliers of custom parts. I am looking to source a bonneville T100 which will be my donor bike. I have attached a couple of pics of the type of styles I like and the think the final product will be a mixture of the 2. I can import an exhaust system but I was after a retro style 2 into 1 which I can powder coat black. Can anybody recommend an exhaust specialist. I am based in southport, merseyside. I have made ends about the DP exhaust and await their reply. If you know anybody with a 2007 bike that they are looking to sell please get in touch. Regards and any advice would be gratefully received Regards Simon
Hi Greeny and welcome to the forum Don't know if you really need to go to the States for parts ect as there are some really good Cafe builders and parts guys in the UK The first one that springs to mind is Spirit of the 70's in Kent. Home page There are also lots of good sites around for inspiration like BSMC and others. Hope that is of help Cheers Steve
Yo Si, have a look at Tec Bike parts NEW Cafe racer parts I can vouch for their rear gas shocks as in yer photo, have fitted them to my Bonnie. Great to deal with speak to George, they do all sorts stuff a lot cheaper than say well known expensive types. They race bikes so no nonsense people. I have spoken re front progressive fork springs and he informed me to make sure fork oil is 10 grade etc etc other people send out 20. My pal has a Bonnie and has all sorts from them. As regards pipes we have a guy in our village in North Yorks BUT they come expensive if yer want hand made design stuff, but there are lots people out there doing them.
