Hi I am 73 and returned to biking after retiring.
1 2002 - came back to biking with a 1989 Kawasaki EBox Z1000 (Fast but didn't like cornering)
2 2004 - changed for a 1998 ZZR600 E6 - Much nippier and easier to turn but not enough power
3 2007 - changed to a 2007 CBF1000 to give me that extra power - Good all round bike
    4 2008 - Got a 2007 GSXR750, to join the CBF1000, for the sporty feel
5 2015 - sold the CBF1000 and the GSXR750 to get a 2015 BMW R1200RS SE Sport good all round bike.
6 2016 - Got a 2015 Triumph Bonneville 865 for leisurely rides round the country lanes

Hi jhero and welcome to the Triumph Asylum ;);):):)

You've had a few bikes in the last few years then ;)

Enjoy your Bonny mate, they are better than they might appear initially and there's plenty of modding that can be done if you're inclined.

The funny thing is I wasn't even looking for the Bonneville. I had taken my R1200RS in for a service and they lent me a R1200R NineT for the day which rekindled my feeling for naked bikes. On my route I passed a dealers that had this Blue and White Bonneville outside, a bike I always wanted when I was young but couldn't afford one, so I had to turn round and have a look at it. Went for a 2 hour test ride on Saturday and that was it. Now just waiting for the dealer to service it, add some freebies for me and then I will be able to enjoy it. I must say the relaxed riding style of the Bonneville compared to my R1200RS gave me the biggest smile I've had getting of a bike for years. It even beat going round the TT course on my gixer.

Hi jhero, welcome in etc. Makes me feel so much better knowing that there are folks 10 years older than me getting back on two wheels:D
