Needing Replacement?

    Yes, it was because of the age. They were hardly used prior to the bike being laid up. I remember fitting them and taking them for a hoon a couple of times and that was it.
    I'll mot it and seen how they are once I get some heat into them. I do remember they were good sticky tyres and gave enough confidence to not need to leave a chicken strip at the edge on either the back or fronts;)

    How old are they? I’d use them as long as they’re not cracking (or 20 years old obviously ;))
    I think most manufacturers recommend replacement if they’re over 5 years old, but that’s probably a conservative timeframe (so they can sell you new tyres, lol)

    10 yrs is old enough; but that depends on if you want an excuse to get new rubber;)

    Personally I would change them. But you will know best. Like you say if you are getting some heat in there first could be fine and running them four five pounds under inflated helps. You will know your self if they are holding the road. Just don't go playing silly beggars till you are sure.

    Silly beggars at 60. Yup, probably. :)
    Think I’ll use the wife’s bike to reacquaint myself to biking after my time off bikes.
