Hi Guys recently i purchased my first Triumph Bonneville America 2005 whilst i contemplate which way to go with it i decided to replace the chrome sprocket cover as the chrome on it was not to good so i looked on the Triumph catalogue via world of Triumph it showed a ribbed chrome cover exactly same as the one i wanted to replace so i ordered it when it came they sent me a plain chrome cover not the ribbed one shown in the fische diagram when i told them they started saying i needed to take photographs ect etc .... basically they were being awkward anyway because i was due to go away for a couple of weeks i kept the one they sent on my return i made another enquiry with another dealer who was still unable to tell me if Triumph can supply the ribbed chrome sprocket cover as shown in there parts diagram so now i am at a loss and am losing faith very quickly can anyone help on this ????

Hi The Drifter and welcome in.Whereabouts do you stay? I was in the Turriff/Fyvie area for about 6 years.

    Re your sprocket cover :

Unfortunately the fische has two versions but doesn't stipulate if one is ribbed or not:
    29. PFKL1200343 - SPROCKET COVER, CHROMED - £ 66.89(€ 76.25)

    29. PFKL1200354 - COVER. SPROCKET. SILVER - £ 79.68(€ 90.84

How much did you pay for yours?

On the Fowlers site it seems to depend on whether your bike is carbed or efi, I dont know about Americas so cannot say, but it appears the ribbed one is for the carbed and the smooth for the efi model.
Here is the link to the Fowlers site, just scroll to your bike and go down sprocket cover. It shows the correct Triumph part numbers too

Did the part number of the item you received accord with one of the numbers above or was it different?

The World of Triumph site shows the same part number for both carb and EFi versions of the America.

    Pictures of 2008 - 2015 EFi America's show a non-ribbed sprocket cover, whereas pics of a 2005 show a ribbed cover.
