America My America Mods.

Here is a list of my mods I have made to my bike. This is my second America, the first having been sold 2 years ago after a very large European tour and needing space in my shed.
So here goes, these things have been done to make the bike feel right and work for me.
1, Gear indicator, essential for me. I mostly ride 2 up and with luggage and knowing which gear I am in in slow tight situations especially in off camber hairpin corners helps.
2, I always thought the bikes do not turn well in corners, easy to fix. I drop the forks through the yokes 3 to 4 mm which changes the bike handling really well. It now steers great and holds good line.
3, Front Pyramid fender extender saves all that crap hitting the open front engine.
4, Cut down the standard screen, I cannot do with looking through perspex. I took off 125 mm at mid point. I can now see nicely up the road and still have really good wind protection.
5, Repeater indicators fitted next to my speedo, I cannot manage those standard things sitting in the tank especially in sunlight. And please do not tell me you never leave yours on.
6, Booster plug, I find it does smooth the bike out and give a much better take up of power and stronger idle.
7,Optimate battery charging socket.
8, Garmin Zumo sat nav.
9, Bike came with a new centre stand but I would have fitted one.
Basically everything else works as a cruiser should. Its not a race bike.
For me the standard rear shocks are ok if set right and the standard tyres with 32lbs in the front and 40lbs in the rear for 2 up work really well with the front end fork mod.
That's about it for me. Just need to get a few miles on it now. Roll on open borders, pubs and B & B's opening. Ride safe all, Ken.
