Is it a sign of my age - just purchased bike lift to make maintenance easier. I can't be bothered lying on the garage floor anymore. Now excited about oil changes - I'm going slightly mad I think:rolleyes:

Ive had one for about 2 years, thought I`d use it more but the problem lies in that it`s squeezed up on the right hand side of my garage & every time I want to use it iv`e got to lug it over in the centre of the garage....those things weigh a ton yo know...Perhaps I`ll try taking my bike off it next time & see if it makes any difference???:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Well the lift arrived today in a coffin like casket - now in the garage and you are right - bloomin ek it's heavy. Finish installing this weekend then the fun can begin.

One of my mates has put a pit - only 8 inches deep - so his lift sits lower than his car.

    So stollydriver.....how`s the lift going????
2 things I forgot to mention & it is common sense really.
Always use the rod that you put though the frame to stop the bike coming down too quickly in the case of a fault & the other thing is for piece of mind.....Always strap your bike down when it`s elevated as they are very unsteady (well, my Thruxton is) & easily knocked & the last thing you want is for your pride & joy to come crashing down & injuring someone or worse!:(

Thought about one of these lifts but was concerned re stability. The GSX is a heavy lump and needs quite a lot of cleaning polishing and servicing.

Hey Crispy. It's almost the same as mine which I got from KD Benches in Falkirk. I got mine dirt cheap coz my daughters bloke knows the bloke who owns KD Benches now AL Gordons. My daughters bloke's dad used to prep and race Nortons back in the 60's and, the bloke who runs AL Gordons also used to race at Knockhill in those glourious days too.
