Just joined after recently buying a speed triple r which I love! Bit of a change of direction for me as I've been on the sportsbikes since passing my test a few years back now. I tracked my blade and was doing more and more trackdays and started racing this year which tbh took the fun out of riding on the road.... But I missed the blasts and crack with the lads. Sold up the road r1 and bought this, which so far has been bloody brilliant.... Fancied a change and loved these since I rode an 08 and newer version (not R), then this popped up and I just went for it. Just how I'd have specced one tbh and the guy had pretty much every extra going then Done hardly any miles so thought it'd be rude not too. Few little bits planned for it over the next year but no rush as I'm pleased with it as it is. Only wish I could ride it but managed to break my foot and ankle at donny couple weeks back so will have to wait. Also get on the 1000rr forum so may be some familiar faces on here too. Anyway, bored you enough. Hi all. Jimbo
Hi Jimbo and welcome to the forum. Fantastic looking Speed Triple R you have there :upyeah: These bikes just make a heck of a lot more sense on the road from a sports bike and although they aren't able to keep up with the blades and R1's on a straight bit of road they can more than hold there own in the twisty stuff and you can ride them all day and not end up needing a chiropractor Just looking at the bike it more or less has everything on it not sure what else you can put on it apart from the higher screen? Hope your on the mend with regards to your ankle and be all ready to get back on the road and track next season. Cheers Steve
Thanks mate. Yeah you'd struggle to find any more extras, it even came with triumph luggage and tank bag and three seats! Wtf... Only mods I might put on are a pcv as it runs rich on the arrow (but sounds and pops mega) and a quick shifter will also get the suspension set up as little on the firm side but all in all over the moon with it in the 1000 miles I've done so far It's great for the road and exactly what I wanted, can go banzai but also potter round. And certainly holds its own in the lanes where 90% of my riding is done. Happy owner so far!
Hi jimbo welcome Im also on the 1000rr Fourm having now sold my 08 blade I spend most nights on here now,but pop back from time to time Don't miss my blade although I do miss the HM QUICKSHIFTER I had fitted if you want one they come highly recommended Enjoy your new ride have fun
Thanks mate, I am preferring it for the roads I must admit. Seems to be able to do all types of riding I have a hm qs on the track bike and wouldn't be without it, but they do seem to put a load on the gearbox (just had mine rebuilt)... Not sure if i want to risk it on the speed... But great toys to play with!
Hi Jimbo welcome to the Triumph forum. Great looking Speed Triple, they do look good with the Arrow lowboy. Think most of the members on here are refugees from other forums; I arrived via the Ducati forum after an 18 month relationship with a 1200 Multistrada. Hope the ankle the ankle recovers quickly, at least you did it at the end of the season!
