In the words of Victor Meldrew 'I Don't Believe It!!!'
Just been checking E Bay and thought I would have a quick check to see if there was another Super III out there for sale and found this got rather excited and then got to the end of the description and read (Deposit has been taken, Bike is Sold)

Dammit I just don't have and luck at all :frown:

You must spend some time scanning e-bay lol. Looks like you missed a good one, just amazes me how few miles some people put on their bikes. I just about have that mileage on my 14 plate Tiger!

Strange that the seller put the "sold" line at the bottom of the description....

I do spend quite a bit of time on E Bay but I do have Triumph Speed Triple 900's, Thunderbird Sports, Tridents and Super III's on auto search so I get notified if any come up.

I also do a lot of searching for other people that are looking for bikes to buy (but don't charge anything for it) as I enjoy trying to find the best bike for them and people say that I am good at spotting the right bike.

I sent a text to the guy last night and he has come back saying that there have been several people contacting him and the highest offer so far is over £5500!!
Yes it is a nice bike and yes it has done a very low mileage and would love to have it in my garage but in all fairness I cannot justify spending that much on a Super III and if I brought at that price I would have to sell it anyway to pay for the divorce

If I didn't have the Daytona 1000 then I might go for it but I have another Triumph lined up that I think is just as tidy as this one.

Mine now has 21k on it. Bought it a couple of years back with 16. Not pristine but tidy and well looked after/pampered now.
It was seen outside my dealer last year and offered £5.5k for it. No sale. Waited since 94 for one of these.

Good luck on your search Steve. I'll keep a look out for you.

    Cheers Sean

I also have wanted one since they came out

Any chance of a photo of your bike?

Super III's were only produced between 1994 and 1996 and only 805 were ever built with 1996 being the rarest as 150 only for that year (this year also had a revised rear shock absorber)

the Engines cylinder heads were produced by Cosworth as well as working on the crankcases which gave the bike a 12:1 compression ratio and 115 bhp, compared to the normal 900 Daytona which had a 10.6:1 compression ratio.
The Super III's were about 5kgs lighter that the 900 Daytonas, but still much heavier than the 96 Blade which was 185kgs and more powerful.
The Super III's also had the Alcon six pot calipers on the front brakes, which was a £800 extra if you wanted them on your 900 or 1200 Daytona.

The Mark 1 Daytona's may not be the fastest or lightest bikes of their time but they make a great sports touring bike and sound fantastic.
I always get loads of people looking at my 1000 when I'm out at a bike meet of Cafe more so than when I had my new 1050 Speed Triple or Fireblade.

    Cheers

    Steve

First year 94 Steve. This year was the twentieth birthday of both the Speed Triple and the Super III. Alas I have both my Speedy as I couldn't afford the Super III back then as it was around £10,500 so bought the next best thing.
I rode my Speedy down to the 20th celebration at the Triumph factory a fortnight ago. Look out for photos in bike mags in near future. I found mine on eBay two years back, it had been turned into Rat Bike but fortunately all body/carbon work kept. The dealer I bought it from could have earned more by breaking, but fortunately wanted to keep whole. £1,500 later and I'm one lucky happy owner/rider. image.jpg

Well I did have a bike that sort of looked like a modern version of yours (paint scheme wise anyway)
