I guess it's all a matter of perspective last night I suffered a bad attack of Atrial Fibrillation (erratic heartbeat) which lasted around 6 hours usually only lasts half hour or so and I have suffered for some time and on Bisoprolol for it but its never been too much of a problem but last night it was giving me shortness of breath and generally felt not too good at all, so the wife got worried and phoned 111, and they decided to send an ambulance the medics checked ECG and said it was all over the place and I should go to A & E for checks and blood tests,
Was not going to go as I have no patience, but the wife persuades me so off I went and got there, and they did the checks and took blood and said the results could take a while, but I got examined by a doctor and asked just what would happen.......in the middle of all this there was a call from my wife saying that she was locked out don't ask, but anyway the doc said that if the bloods came back and there was a problem they would likely just refer me to a clinic and unless I had a heart attack they wouldn't give me any meds anyway, so I elected to self discharge as my wife was getting a lift from a very kind near neighbour (not that one;)) in the hope that my key would unlock the door, so we get back at around 5.30am and find the bloody key won't work as there are key on the inside of each door so being a really stubborn old git it off to the shed for a crowbar and some tools and I eventually get us in.

So conclusions......we didn't get COVID-19....yet I am still alive and kicking well weakish prodding my toothache has stopped for the time being, and I am not seeing the dentist again until the 30th now, so fingers crossed there, I had a great day yesterday cleaning up and starting the Trident in the sunshine but getting a little pissed off with my luck lately, but the birds are singing the buds are budding, and I may get to go for a ride at the end of the month and I can also resume my hobby of shooting at the air rifle club I run ....so could be worse...just a matter of perspective.;)

Murphy's law :) All ends not too bad, but sure the key stress was not necessary for you and your wife there.

I agree; life can be good if you choose the right perspective. I have a sister who says, "If you don't like the scenery, change your perspective." Hope you get your tooth, heart rhythm, and door repairs sorted soon and on to riding, shooting and enjoying what life brings.

Keeping a positive attitude always helps. Not familiar with the medication you mention. I thought coumadin was the gold standard do A-Fib?

Oh my gosh, @Tricky-Dicky. :scream: When it rains it really does pour. I'm sorry to read about your frightening afib episode and the ensuing clusterf*ck. But I'm glad and relieved to read that you didn't get COVID, your afib dissipated, your toothache is at bay, you got back into your house, and that you subsequently had a great day in the sun with the bike, birds, and buds. :) Fingers crossed that you can ride at the end of the month and resume shooting at the club. :joy:  You are so right. Things (nearly always) could be worse and it's just a matter of perspective. How we handle the challenges that life throws us and how we interpret our circumstances is a choice. Good on you for choosing to focus on the positives during difficult times. :kissing_heart::heart:

Sounds like you handled all that pretty well TD considering. My Dad suffered with a bad heart for years with quite a few AtFib episodes which were really scary, especially when accompanied by chest pain and/or shortness of breath. We had paramedics out to him numerous times and they always said the same thing, "call 999", so your good lady did the right thing seeking help.
As others have said, coping with health issues and disabilities can be as much about having things to look forward to as much as the meds and tests etc. Interesting to know you run an Air Rifle club. I've just brought my 35yr old Weirauch HW35E out of retirement to deal with a problem we have with rats on the garden bird feeders at the moment. It was well down on power which turned out to be a broken spring so a new spring and tune up kit brought it back up to spec.

Well yes you are having a bud run. Just slow down and rest more. The good things start today. Do take care and smile it's all up from here on.
    Joe.

I know with my own situation. I was deteriorating from year to year pretty badly while I was still working. At 63 I pulled the plug. Over the years my health has improved somewhat. I had to face the fact that I just could not keep that pace anymore. With good meds, a slower life style and my wife looking out for me, I have made it past 75 so far. I count my blessings. Some are not able to just quit work for various reasons. ...J.D.

Hi Sandi, I'm OK thanks for asking feeling a fair bit more tired than usual and a bit paranoid every now and then but no new episodes going to talk to the doctor on Thursday and ask for a referral back to the heart specialist to maybe get my meds increased or changed.
Hope your arm is starting to feel much better .:)

Thanks for the update, Dick. I'm glad you've had no new eposiodes but are going to follow up nonetheless. Feeling bit paranoid is certainly understandable under the circumstances. I hope your appointment on Thursday goes well and also that you start to get your energy back. My arm is getting better every day, thanks. :) Unlike after my last surgery, this time around I can see and feel improvements each day. I'm thinking doing a short ride on my Speed Triple in a couple of weeks if I continue to improve.
