So to wax or oil? What is best for maximum performance? What lasts longer? Where can I get some? No I'm taking chain care! I expect this thread to run and run....
Fit a Scottoiler, nothing better in my opinion. Virtually maintenance free and massively extends the life of your chain and sprockets.
Well said, next topic of discussion, where can we find such excellence in chain maintenance for the same price lol
Hi, I use chain saw oil in a Scotoiler, it's designed not to fling off the chain but it does collect muck around the front sprocket.
plus one for scottoiler id set correctly minimal flingoff on wheel and chain life great, ive used since they came out on all my bikes (r1/zrx/gpz/gpx/gs/etc)never bought a new chain yet no brainer inmho.
Another vote for Scotoiler, although at about £100 they are starting to get a bit pricey. I used a different make of chain oiler on the Tiger - Loobman it's called - not as good as a Scotoiler but a fraction of the price, uses ordinary oil and works well. Maybe a group purchase ? http://www.loobman.co.uk/buy.asp
yes they are dear if new but so is a decent chain kit, always eBay and gum tree I've got spare i removed from r1 i traded for the triple wasn't giving it to dealer (and new iridium ngks) too right.
