Just letting you know how the lowering of my 2018 Tiger 800 XCA went.

I've hardly ridden the bike, as I've had carpal tunnel surgery, but now getting back on track.

I was aware that the bike was going to be tall, but even with the seat in the lowest position, I wasn't confident that I could catch it on an incline, if my footing slipped, I wasn't on my tippy toes, but I'm not getting taller as I aged, in fact I've shrunk!

The bike is bog standard, but has every accessory fitted I can think of, the previous owner was the Triumph Sales Manager at a dealership in Texas, and he just went through the accessory catalog.

So, I decided to get the lowest lowering kit (bones) that I could find, as I can always revert the change.

I got them from via ebay.com, and from GB Motorcycle Products - GBP28.50 $36.30, they are based in the UK, shipping was quick and the bones look just like stock but longer.

Triumph Tiger 800XC & XR 40mm Lowering Kit, Dog Bones, Suspension Links In Black

Fitting them took around 20mins, super easy, I placed the bike on the center stand, placed a piece of wood under the rear wheel, removed the bolts, put the new bones, greased up the bolts as they were dry, got someone to lift the rear of the bike to make inserting the bones easier, tighten up, job done.

It has been mentioned that the side stand will now be to leaned over, but it seems fine, it may slightly better in fact, I do have have a stand bracket from an XRX which I could install, but it seems just fine as is.

I've not yet lowered the forks, 3.3mm I reckoned, as it seems to handle fine, and I'm still getting use to the bike, but I will do it just to see the difference.

I'm 5'10ft, and I can now flat foot the motorcycle, massive confidence boost, and the bike feels less top-heavy now, I'm really pleased with the modification.
