Hey everyone! I put a deposit on a new Speed Triple RS. Any common issues I should BOLO?

I'm currently on an Italian bike, and the Triumph just felt leagues more refined and smooth. It really seems like an excellent compromise of comfort and hilarious levels of performance. Pretty excited to get it back to my garage and out on the road!

    Cheers,

Welcome to the forum. You will love the bike. Some have had problems with the quick shifter. I have over 9,000 trouble free miles with mine.

    Welcome.

Which Italian bike are you coming from?

Interestingly I am looking at changing from a Street Triple to a Ducati Monster 1200s.

    Welcome Speedy.
You'll find plenty of info here.
Generally a solid reliable bike, but there are problems reported from several having quickshifter issues which can then lead to gearbox problems. IMO you're better steering clear of the qs, an optional extra in UK but standard in other countries (it can be removed if already fitted).
I've also heard insurance companies hike the premium significantly if a qs is fitted, don't know if that's true or not?

Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of Triumphs, SpeedyG. As mentioned in a previous post, some have had quick shifter problems. I had my shifter arm changed out by my dealer with a Triumph supplied replacement and have had no problems eery since. I LOVE my Speed Triple! Great bike--superb fit and finish, terrific engine. Enjoy!!

    Hi Dd :no_mouth:
I did see this posting but choose not to respond, dont want to be that fella whom only has bad things to say about the Rs but that aside yes i did buy a complete "friday feeling lemon" brake fault, gear box fault and my fuel line burst, felt like the bike was never away from the dealer.

Hi Mate & Welcome to the Forum  Quick shifters seem to be the common problem, plenty written in the Speed Triple section if you have a read.
