Just sold my 85 CB650 Nighthawk and am looking at 2010ish Thruxtons as a replacement. The maintenance on the CB650 was pretty simple and at times almost nonexistent. How would a 2010-2014 Thruxton compare? Any issues i should be aware of when inspecting and test riding one? There is one for sale very close to me and it is a 2010 with less than 3k miles. Thanks!
update. purchased the 2010 Thruxton with 2500 miles on Thursday. very nice 30 mile ride home through Indiana country roads. going to clean it up a bit and do some more riding to familiarize myself this weekend. photos to come.
spent a couple of hours checking and adjusting some things. went out for a 40 mile ride on some twisty roads to get a better feel for it. the thruxton is very different from the CB650 but i really like it. the torque is amazing.
One of our lads has a 2012 model. They are so easy to ride and they don’t hang about when you need to get a move on. Great choice. Enjoy.
