My late dad served in the Royal Navy, mostly in submarines, through WW2. I carry a permanent reminder with me: my middle name was named after his best friend, who was killed when the battleship Prince of Wales was sunk.

My grandfather died at the Somme in WW1, he was in the Royal Warwicks and my uncle, my dad's twin died at Caen in WW2, he was in the Black Watch.
    Always in our hearts.
God bless them and all their pals.

RIP all the heros and heroines who served and fought, that we could enjoy the freedoms we enjoy in this day and age. My maternal grandfather fought at Gallipoli with the Anzacs. He was born in Australia. I have the war medals given to my Paternal grandfather and my Great Uncle from WW1. I don't think they are worth a great deal, but I'd never sell them anyway. I guess its about time I passed them on to my son. Sadly they had died long before he was born, but I know he feels as I do about their sacrifices.

My mum's Dad, Tom Snowden. He was an old man by the time I was born and died when I was in my early teens, but I remember him as a lovely man who doted on us kids and like many war veterans, he never spoke of his wartime experiences.

Wessa and Brothers. Yes we do and still do. Our freedom was from their sacrifice. We can't repay their deeds we can just remember never to forget and help where we can. God bless them all past and present.
    Joe.
