Latest money well spent item!

After the generally well received recommendation of the poodle hair dryer for blowing your bike dry, here's the latest product I've got to keep the rides clean.....

A snow foam cannon (basically a poncey name for an attachment for your pressure washer!)
I'd seen a few videos on youtube of cleaning bikes and cars, and these items seem to be the toy of choice of those that spend an eternity buffing and polishing their vehicles.
The basic premise is, you cover the vehicle with a thick marshmallow consistency cleaning solution that (supposedly) lifts the grime and slowly drips off before you rinse the remaining foam off.
Basically being Mr Lazy, I can cover the bikes with this stuff, retire to the kitchen for a bacon sandwich, return twenty minutes later to rinse them off and most of the cleaning is done without having to get a sponge out.

They're available from a firm called Autobrite Direct over in Stoke (and they're really quick on delivery too). Anyway - here's the recommendation - don't look for the snow foam cannon on its own if you fancy one - they'll charge you forty quid plus p+p for that - go to best sellers - http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/in...duty-foam-snow-foam-lance-magifoam-500ml.html - they'll sell you the attachment and a bottle of the detergent for thirty four quid (thirty eight quid delivered). Just make sure you order the correct fitting for your pressure washer brand.

It does work - I used it this morning on my Fazer, which hadn't been cleaned since I got my trumpet, and with minimal effort (my kind of cleaning!) it came up shiny and bright.

 

Like Littleade said - you dilute the solution up to 100:1, so in theory you could get about fifty 'bottles full' and I found that one bottle full was good for two washes - my car and my Fazer.
The solution is available in bulk too, five litre and twenty five litre containers. Five litres should be more than enough for twelve months worth of cleaning.

Good shout on the foam - I might give some of that a try, especially as it's cheaper than the Autobrite version!

 

Great shout on the Valet Pro - I ordered some off the evilbay and tried it out last weekend after a ride out to The Elan Valley encrusted the bike with dead flies.
Gave the bike a good covering with it, left it for ten minutes, hosed it off and all the insect splats had gone.
