Knocked Off Yesterday :(

so sorry to hear this, having an off is always traumatic especially as we get older. When I hit gravel a few years back it bloody hurt.
At least the at fault driver copped for it, as some will not.

 

Sorry to hear this, on your recovery and decisions don’t rush anything! Keep on top of the insurance claim and get the statement from your witness ASAP wether you think you’ll need it or not.

Hi Gazza, sorry to hear your news, the only saving grace is that she wasn't a twat about it and accepted fault straightaway.

If I can just say, Don't make any rush decisions for a few weeks until you know you are back to normal - whatever that means !!!!

So so sorry to hear the news mate. And I do hope you get back to your self soon. Yes I feel I agree with you an hour each way this time of year is taking big chance. When I was working 12 hour shifts I did feel it and just know that really I should not have been on a bike. But do get your self well then decide were you go from there. And just know we are all with you.

Sorry to hear of your off mate ;
I was taken off at a T junction, in september and like you, immediately after was pondering whether at my age (63) should be commuting.
But 3 weeks later bought a cheap bike and got back into it, was nervous first few days, every junction had a sniper on it, but it passed quickly, so don't let the feckers add to your commute time, the lighter days/nights are coming so commuting will be safer shortly.

 

Glad you're ok you can always replace a bike .

Similar thing happened to me around 5 years ago when some old git decided to come over into my lane. Didn't hit me but I came off due to instinctively braking hard. The twat never even saw me and didn't stop so all on my insurance.
Get your insurance sorted and you'll be back on a bike in no time!

One of the reasons I always ride with a GoPro. After the event and they have weighed up the implications people often change their tune, very few people have any honour these days.
