Bought my Speedmaster from them and it was a nice easy transaction. Alex the salesman was helpful and when I said I'd be fitting TORs he told me I should get it remapped and offered to do it for free for me. Took the bike in on Saturday to get it remapped and was invited to have coffee whilst i waited. Everyone I met there is friendly and helpful, just like it should be.

Glad you had a good experience dealing with the Romford Triumph Dealership. My first & only visit so far was very much a mixed bag. See 'shocking' on Lounge. However did have an encouraging reply from service manager re next visit if it happens

Just read your thread and i too wouldn't have been happy with that kind of service. But as I say, mine was a completely different experience. I was happy to use Lilleys based on y colleagues recommendation, albeit of the other branch. He will only ever buy from them and has his bikes maintained by them only, even when out of warranty. After he was knocked off his bike recently he argued with his ins co that wanted their repairer to fix it, but he would only have Lilleys do it and got his way. So when I bought from Lilleys I didnt expect anything less and they even offered to pick me up from te train station when I was coming to collect it. Lest just hope they dont drop standards or allow a mechanic to undermine their reputation!

I'll give anyone a second chance. If they treat me right I'll return my custom, if not, then bye bye. Trouble is, not that many dealers to choose from

I found that when I was using Jack Lilley I would go to Ashford Never Romford as they were in my opinion insulting and only in the trade for as much as they could get from the bikers
    Regards
    Joe.

When was this? They have been taken over in the last 12 months, but still trade under J L title. Service manager adamant things will be better than previous. We shall see

Yes my experience with Romford was about two years ago but I am old school and once insulted I never go back. Bikers are human and the nicest group well 99% are. And people who see a quick rip off in my books are dirt. You get dealers out there and I have dealt with quite a few who just say sorry I don't think we can deal or sorry your bike is not something we would consider and that is how it should be. Not some one who offers a pathetic sum knowing they can at least double it.
    Regards
    Joe.

Well my plan is to take it there for its first year service in March, I'll let. You know how I get on. After that I'll be doing everything else myself.

Yes that was the same deal I had with Ashford. I purchased my oil filter from them and carried out my own service then when it came to service I took it there they checked it was done properly and stamped my book and did the tune up bits. At half the price. But I agree with you it make you feel better knowing you have done it yourself.
    Regards
    Joe

It'll be out of warranty by March 2019 anyway so servicing myself will not be an issue

A buddy of mine had his 2005 Speedmaster give up on him (electrical fault).... and has had superb service from Lilleys in Romford.

Initially he was going to part ex his Speedmaster for a Thunderbird, but he wanted some extras put on it. They were extremely accommodating even when he couldn’t bear to part with the old girl so both bikes are being delivered home next week - one as a new ride and one as a troubleshooting project.

A big +1 to Lilleys in Romford.

Hi all, I can only speak as I found,.
I purchased a Thruxton Standard from Jack Lilly Romford and px’d my 675R Daytona, I got a great deal on both and the new bike included the cafe racer kit which I fitted myself. After fitting the new LED indicators they were flashing way to quickly, I took the bike to them and they rectified it straight away.
I really can’t say anything bad about them Mark my salesmen great, and the after sales experience has been perfect.
I’m in my 50’s and been riding on the road since I was sixteen and I’d put the Romford Jack Lilly as one of my best buying experiences .

A few weeks ago I put a post on here and on another couple of sites that I was looking for a street triple.

I got a message from Dave Lilley telling me he had a bike in that almost fitted my requirements. After several messages back and forth I went to see Sean at Romford to check out the bike he had that met my budget. I came away with a different bike - a slightly newer Street Triple RS with just 1100 miles on the clock for just £100 more than the one I went to look at.

I went to pick it up yesterday. And it turns out that this one is on the Triumph approved stock, so I got a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty, a rather splendid Triumph for all the paperwork, a Triumph backpack (made by Kriega) and a full tank of fuel.

I can't comment on their service dept as it's unlikely I'll use them, but I have no complaints about their sales staff at all.

I've met the new aftersales/service manager at Jack Lilley's Romford. A very nice and knowledgeable young lady who definitely has the right customer focused attitude. If you've had bad experience in the past that's a shame, but I'd encourage you to try the new team.

I always speak as I find and have had dealings with four Triumph dealers, Boyer sadly gone, Ongar Motorcycles,Jack Lilley and now Woburn.
I can’t say anything bad of any,all have been really helpful.

+ 1 for Romford - I bought my T120 from them in 2016 and the recalls and servicing since then have been top notch.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
    Cheers

Romford is my local dealer (and by far my most local dealer). I'd say I've definitely had a mixed bag. The staff are always polite, which is good.

However, with my new Rocket TFC, I had been asking for a while whether or not heated grips and bluetooth were included. I know that the dealers were almost as much in the dark as the rest of us, but I was trying to encourage them to order up those parts in case they weren't included, which they wouldn't do. When the bike arrived, I was told that it definitely DID have bluetooth as standard (which it actually doesn't).

Fortunately the error was realised before collection, and they managed to order and fit it in time, however, I was charged £100 fitting for the bluetooth, which I think is a LOT anyway, especially for something that I feel should have been included on the MOST expensive bike that triumph make at £25k, but that especially given the mistake, perhaps they could have done the labour gratis. Indeed, after picking up the bike, I've heard of others that had bluetooth and heated grips fitted with free labour as part of the PDI whereas I had to pay about £100 for each.

Also, when picking it up I was sat at the salesman's desk in the middle of the showroom, and the bike was still being worked on (I guess the bluetooth), and then eventually about halfway through, the bike was unceremoniously wheeled in by a tech. I dunno, maybe I'm a bit up myself, but it didn't feel like the handover you'd expect from such a premium piece of kit, it was rather underwhelming.

By contrast, when I picked up my Commander (from Carl Rosner in Croydon), There was a nice sign welcoming me, and the bike was in the showroom, prepped, right next to the salesman's desk ... not that I was aware of it, because it was draped in a black cloth, and there was a big reveal of the machine. A much more fulfilling process, for a bike worth about half that of the Rocket TFC.

I would also say that since getting the machine, and having a few questions, I always feel like I'm given the "yeah yeah, that's normal" response to basically any query I raise. They even told me that the pegs on the bike aren't lowerable like the are on the R model, but having contacted Triumph HQ directly, they told they me are. There are many other examples that demonstrate either a lack of knowledge, and/or a lack of enthusiasm to get the right info, which I have found somewhat irritating.
