I now own a slightly poorly 2017 Triumph T100 ! While swerving to miss a child running in to the road I stacked it straight in to a parked car ! My front forks are bent back so the mud guard is almost touching my radiator! I've booked it in to my local Triumph dealer to have it fixed as I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms, but was wondering how much in £ this is likely to cost ? The owner of the small child was very apologetic and has offered to pay for any work that needs doing but I would like to know a ball park figure.... any ideas ????

That could be a very expensive repair and non bikers have some very strange ideas about the cost of motorcycles .......

Most importantly I hope you are okay, and I hope you get the bike fully repaired. As mentioned by Oldyam, those who have no experience of bike are not always knowledgable about the cost of bikes and how much they are to repair. Good luck and keep us informed.

Hi all thanks for replying ! I'm ok, a little bruised in places I've never had a bruise before but apart from that I'm fine ! The kid was fine it was a choice between him and the bike and as much as I love my bike a child going to win every time ! I'm not overly worried about it that's what insurance is for ! Thanks again for your concern and I'll be sure to post some pics when we're back on the road

It may look as though only the forks are bent but the frame could well be too, then there is no cheap fix.
I wish you luck with the parents paying up,if past experience is anything to go by you will be lucky, and mine was only a rear light on a car.
Glad uok tho and wish you all the best, bikes can usually be fixed, people cannot

If he chokes on the estimate he might want to look at his own household / personal insurance cover . Any witnesses? You do need to get his support in writing. Hope everything goes ok, you made the right choice though, hitting a child even though not your fault would have been lifetime haunting. Every cloud & all that

Totally agree - hope the parent does not remove his offer. As said previous - none bikers can not believe the cost of our prize possessions and the price of spares is ridiculous. If you break down the bike into spares to build - a lot of us would give up motorcycling. You are right - that's what insurance is for. Why was his child unsupervised and free to go on the highway? Glad you are ok and the child was unhurt. All the best..

Glad you're ok, I hope you had witnesses, please don't forget that there is a car involved and they might try claiming off your insurance
