As if "A" pillars aren't wide enough already to hide motorbikes from the inside of cars, today I saw a b*llend policeman driving a patrol car with some device stuck inside his screen right by his "A" pillar and right in his line of sight. Not only bikes but almost any vehicle would have been hidden by the GPS or whatever it was whenever this idiot was joining a roundabout. I wonder what the poor sod who runs into the side of the patrol car when it pulls out will be charged with - probably "Driving with a cloak of invisibility"! There's next to no chance of the great unwashed being challenged over having their windscreen covered in "devices" in inappropriate positions if the dopey rozzers are doing it.

I thought it was illegal to have anything in the windscreen apart from your tax disc (when you needed one)

Illegal or not, you'd expect better from a copper. Mind you, they are blessed with a superior intellect and super-human powers that allow them to use mobile comms whilst driving too. An acquaintance of mine who used to be policeman resigned [partially] because they got more cars on the road by crewing each with only one person and then expected them to drive, speak on mobile comms and write up details simultaneously but charge any member of the public they caught doing similar multi-tasking.
