I.a.m Recommended Bikes

    I am interested in doing the I.A.M. course and have a question - may seem a daft one..
    Is a Rocket R3 Gt a good platform for the test?

    Don't think it matters what bike you do your test on.

    That's what I was thinking - just wondered if any low speed pad work was required.

    Yep I just passed a couple of weeks ago. I was chatting to my instruction at Wey Valley and he said there was a real mix of bikes.

    He rode a S1000R, another guy I went out with was in a GS. The examiner was on an old sports bike so seems anything goes.

    I was in my Thruxton which suited fine.

    Just make sure you’re completely comfortable on the bike going normal speeds and slowly. I had to practise my slow control a lot as I just haven’t done it since my initial test!

    For my test I had to do some figures of 8 at the end of the ride.
