how many keys

Hi all, I recently bought a speed four, I had to take it to a bike mechanic last week and he made an off the cuff remark about the bike being "borrowed". I've done a check on the bike and its never been stolen. I have 2 sets of keys. one set are blanks and the other are:1 for ignition and 1 for petrol tank. Is that right?:upyeah:

Hi ren I've only had two Triumphs, both Speed Triples and I've had two keys with each - no blanks. The same key fits the ignition, fuel tank and seat lock. Not able to say if the S IV is different, sorry

Every bike i have ever had has one key fits all (ignition, petrol cap & seat release). Apart from the America which (a) doesnt have a locking fuel cap & (B) has a different kind of key for the steering lock as its not on the ignition barrel.
Ive never known a bike to come with key blanks though?

My zx9, and my speed triple both have individual keys for the tank and ignition.
neither were registered stolen. could be attempted theft thou, or just worn out/faulty ignition barrel...

I think you are worrying to much. I had my speedmaster and it had a blank key from new. Also had two main keys that fitted all. Its your bike you like it. It runs well go out and enjoy the ride. These mechanic types say some stupid things I think they like to make themselves look good. He's a prat.
