    ...when fitting rear shocks?

I'm about to change the OE shocks for an alternative (see thread 'Nitron shocks - a word of warning') and I'd like to restore the geometry that was created when I had the 'incorrect' Nitron shocks fitted originally some time ago. The data regarding the original length of these is unknown as they weren't correctly manufactured but I'm sure I remember the bike being about 10-15mm higher than stock which is 349 between centres.

What are the sensible limits for this? I know it can quicken turn in but I imagine that there's a cut off where you start to adversely affect the bikes handling and not forgetting the chain.

    I'm inclined to add 10mm.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers.

I think I'll remain clueless for a bit, that's usual form for me :grinning:

I have Thurxton YSS Eco line shocks installed on my T100 (2011), which are 360mm instead of the standard 340mm. The bike handles really well. An issue I had is that the side stand becomes quite short, i.e. the bike leans quite a bit more. Hence I replaced the side stand with a Thruxton side stand as well, which improved things a bit (with some caveats):

This probably doesn't answer your question directly, but should give you a rough idea of how far you can go.
