How Can I Tell What Model This Is?

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

The bike you are looking at is a Bonneville 865. It is NOT a T100 (in that year they all had chrome engine cases and wire wheels.)

The SE model came as standard with a tacho as well as speedo although it could also be added to the standard 865 with mag wheels.The exhausts look standard as fitted. This model did not have the pea shooters as fitted to the T100.
The one you are looking at appears to be in pretty good order with a number of extras, The side panels, panniers, rack and the seat, which looks like a 'Norman Hyde' seat. I can't see the bars in the photo to tell whether they are standard or not but clearly the screen is an extra.

Looks like a very nice bike best of luck with your negotiations, hopefully the service history is there and complete

 

Agreed, Bonneville SE. Rear shocks are an upgrade too by the look of it, springs are progressive, originals are chromed.

Yes indeed a very nice bike. If you like the bike just buy and ride. All the other bits and questions will fall into place through time. But the frame number should help if you ask a good Triumph dealer. Welcome to the family.

The SE definitely came with the twin dials and mag wheels. The T100 had spoked wheels.
