Hello All, Good Morning! As you may have recalled from my intro post, I recently bought my first big bike, a 2000 Triumph Thunderbird Sport... Well it arrived today and I am delighted. Well, as my excitement started to rise, heart pounding and chest erupting with joy, I started taking a walk around it, admiring it and snapping a way and then the delivery man says to me, 'here's the key, why don't you start it up and check it all over'... So I snatch the key, fumbling around (clearly still over excited ) I insert it into the ignition, enable the engine switch and nervously press the start button... Then all of a sudden the silence around me is shattered, birds perching on the fence fly off in terror, the local moggy, sitting taking a dump on my neighbours lawn darts off in some other direction and I literally stumble backwards with sheer fright, my heart pounding with fear as the Thunderbirds' engine roared with such ferocity to life... Oh My God.... it sounded amazing like some sort of bomber jet. It sounds unlike anything I have heard, all I am used to is the weedy asthmatic wheeze of my 125 Honda - This is something else. I couldn't help but grin..... I was tempted to jump aboard it and ride it to work but my judgement decided to err on the side of caution and so I decided to leave it at home, until later today when I'll take it to some empty roads and get used to it. To use a well-worn phase ... 'With great power, comes great responsibility' and so I'll make sure to take it real slow.... Pheww.... I hope you all have a fab day.... I cant stop smiling at the moment.
That's what I call a bike, looks good, sounds, good, is good , and good to hear yer gunna take it easy, the smile will say it all to everybody around you. Ride safe :upyeah:
Great bike I know what you mean by the bomber sounding engine. Every day when I start my legend I smile from ear to ear
