675 Hi Revs At Cold Start

Hi Everyone. I have 2009 a Street triple R (my first bike). I wonder if anyone else has had this issue? When starting from cold the revs are at around 3000-3500 and stay at that!

This did happen last year while touring around Cornwall and then the bike died. When I had it transported home the engine management light was on. this cleared after being started 3 times and I hadn't had the problem since. Any advice welcome.
