Hi just got a 2009 Bonneville SE, very happy with it. I rode old Bonnie's for years and switched to Japs for a while.

After a break decided a new style Bonnie was what I needed, never had a fuel injection bike before, help please can't find fuel tap / reserve, surely it has got one?? Feeling silly !

To the best of my knowledge the efi bikes don't have a fuel tap, they are pump fed as opposed to gravity fed, but you should have a fuel light to tell you when the level is getting low, which would be the equivalent of having a fuel reserve .

Thanks Harvey, I guess old habits die hard and I'll need to learn some new ones. Would be good to know how long the reserve is good for if anyone knows?

What a great fast response, love this forum already ;) !!

I guess you just got lucky, first time i've popped in this forum for a good few months..... Long story, not meant to be here  If you're on facebook, check out https://www.facebook.com/groups/Triumph.Cruisers/ pop on there & introduce yourself Sass, they are a good knowledgeable bunch too.

The tank i believe is a 16 litre tank, although most struggle to get 15 litres in from "empty". However you will never fully empty the fuel tank as the fuel sits in the pockets either side of the raised section that goes over the frame, the petcock is on the LHS so unless you lean the bike right over there will always be fuel trapped on the RHS.

I think the fuel light is "suppose" to come on with approximately 0.8 gallons left. In general, the fuel warning light should come on at around the 115 mile mark & possibly flicker & go off again but become constant around the 125 mile. Theoretically, with the light on you should be able to achieve a further 40-50 miles but be prepared for a walk. Lol

Personally, i would reset the trip counter & aim to refuel at 120 miles, that way you will save yourself a lot of blood, sweat, tears & embarrassment. :upyeah:
