Hi everyone. I'm in need of a little bit of advice. A friend of mine had an unfortunate ending to a recent trackday at Donington park. After 4 laps of the first session, there was a loud clunking noise from within the engine and the oil pressure light came on the dash. He immediately hit the kill switch and fortunately got himself and the bike out of harms way. Once the bike was recovered back to the garage we tried a few things to get the bike running, to no avail. We got back home and after removing the clutch cover, I have found that number 3 con rod, ( the one closest to the clutch), has snapped half way down. It's also punched a small hole in the engine casing. My question is, what is the difference between the street triple and Daytona engine? Is it just the cams and ECU map? What's involved in fitting the street triple engine to the Daytona, if it's even possible. The bike is an 09 Daytona 675.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried a search, but it hasn't come up with any results.

    Kindest regards
