Hi folks, present bikes 1965 Tiger 90 and 2000 Sportster. First starting riding in 1961 on a C11g Beeza, then an Arial Arrow, 600 Dommie, 500 Goldie, T21, succession of step throughs, then several Jap stuff, big twin Harley, Ironhead Sporty, B31. Live in Bodmin Cornwall, originally from the East End. 72 last birthday and fair weather rider now. Had a fair amount of problems with the T90, replaced all electrics and converted to 12 volt. Replaced clutch and now have a problem with kickstart wear but apart from the Goldie I reckon my little T90 is the best looking bike I've owned.
Thanks for all your comments guys. It was only when I got to thinking about the bikes I'd had when I remembered the 21 I bought for 25 quid back in the early 70's. After watching Easy Rider I decided to chop it. Painted the tank gloss yellow from Woolworths, put a set of Raleigh Chopper handlebars on, made some forwards from gas pipe and connected the back brake with a thin strip of ally. Took it for an MOT, the tester rode up the road, put the front brake on and nearly went over the front end when the bars swivelled round (inch clamps 7/8 bars). Then he put the back brake on which immediately snapped. Unfortunately there was a copper also there getting some stuff. Told me to walk it home and never come out on it again. Happy days.
