Since getting back on two wheels in 2014 with a 650 Daytona I’m currently enjoying my Fireblade. However, want to do the NC500 and thinking a 1050 Tiger will be more appropriate.

Hoping to pick up on what’s good/bad to look out for Tigerwise and any suggestions for accommodation etc re the NC outing.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi there! Welcome to the forum.;)
I did 35.000 km on my former Tiger 1200. It was great to ride. Touring with additional luggage and weight can cause to difficulties, depending on the road quality.
My wife is satisfied with her Tiger 900. She did about 30.000 till now.

Hi Markus. Thanks, but was that a typo or does the extra luggage and weight actually cause difficulties?

Hi and welcome. I owned the tiger 1050 sport for the last 4 years and have recently swapped it for its baby brother the 660 sport. I wanted something smaller and lighter. As far as the 1050 goes, it bloody well goes. It is a great touring bike with loads of luggage space in the panniers and top box or with them off the bike just having fun blasting around in the twisties. :)

This was no mistake. The extra weight can cause to difficulties when you stop on loose ground in the alps in steep terrain. Side stand may sink into the ground and lifting it up again is "interesting". Riding itself is without any issues.
